Explain a war! Choose any war in history (except WWI and WWII), and focusing on the politics (who wanted what and why) explain the reasons the war was fought. In the introduction, sketch out the major actors and their relative strengths and weaknesses.
Then assess whether the war was caused by fear, greed, ideology, or some combination. In the conclusion, explain how it played out and why it ended with victory or defeat for the actors. You must use at least 8 sources, and will be graded in part on the quality of writing (sentence structure, spelling, punctuation) and proper citation of all sources. Projects must be typed, double-spaced, and NO MORE than 4 pages. Projects that flagrantly exceed the maximum length will be penalized at least 10 points.
